Alleima Expands Affectus Alba Installation with New Portals for Energy and Media Monitoring at the Sandviken Plant Site

We at Affectus are proud to announce that our client, Alleima—recently spun off from Sandvik and formerly known as Sandvik Materials Technology—is expanding its installation of Affectus Alba at their plant site in Sandviken. This expansion includes the implementation of new portals for all companies at the site, with a special focus on advanced energy and media monitoring.

Alleima is a global leader in advanced stainless steels and special alloys, now operating as an independent entity with a strong focus on innovation and sustainability. As a leading manufacturer of high-tech materials, Alleima plays a key role in several industrial sectors, including energy, medical, and aerospace. Their commitment to quality and technology makes them a trusted partner for customers worldwide.

As part of their ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency and sustainability, Alleima has chosen Affectus Alba as the platform to manage and optimize energy usage and media monitoring at the Sandviken plant site. Through the new portals, Alleima will gain deeper insights into energy consumption, allowing them to identify opportunities for optimization and reduce energy use. Additionally, the media monitoring capabilities provide a comprehensive understanding of other critical production parameters, further supporting a more resource-efficient operation.

We at Affectus are excited to continue supporting Alleima in their digital transformation and look forward to contributing to their ongoing success as an independent company. Contact us for more information on how Affectus Alba can help your company optimize energy management and resource usage.

Affectus successfully tests Alba system in Malaysia

Affectus AB, Sweden, has been working tirelessly in South Asia over the past few years, helping the industrial, transmission and renewable ecosystems achieve sustainability and circular economy goals.

It has conducted extensive market research to reach various sectors in South Asia. As part of the BAPSEA program, undertaken by the Swedish Energy Agency, Affectus successfully installed its test system in a glove manufacturing factory in Tai Ping, Malaysia.

The management, being satisfied, has agreed to a pilot installation in order to gather real-time data and derive insights from data analysis. This will help them reduce energy consumption and potentially increase productivity.

Affectus looks forward to installing such systems in every factory in Malaysia and beyond, as it aspires to be part of the change toward making the world a better place.

Package of TRUST

The most important characteristic that any organisation must achieve and be proud of is: TRUST. It is not an easy task for any company to keep delivering its commitment towards excellence, as well as to upgrade its systems to keep pace with modern technological advancement. Affectus has been able to achieve this extraordinary feat before, and continues to do so today, providing clients with the best of experience.

Affectus AB recently upgraded a system installed at one of the biggest packaging industry giants in Sweden, with a production of several million tonnes of packaging materials annually. The organisation had installed the system designed by Affectus back in 2012, with the primary objective of providing the world with sustainable, non-polluting packaging options.

The organisation, satisfied with the performance of Affectus Alba, continued as our patron year after year. The commitment was further strengthened when they decided to upgrade their existing energy management system as a partner in a sustainable future — recently upgrading to the Affectus Alba IoT system.

The Affectus team is very happy and committed to providing the best of service to our patrons.

Footprints in Asia

Affectus has successfully conducted tests on one of the remote islands in the Bay of Bengal. With the vision of creating a smart environment, the Affectus team — led by Peter Almström together with Johan Hedgren from Sweden and Anandam Sanyal from India — conducted an almost year-long survey, observation and assessment of conditions on the remote islands.

With the sensational increase in the need to eradicate fossil fuel use, it becomes more important than ever to quantify, assess and manage the relevant situation at every moment. The tendency to install a system is always there, but afterwards you need facts on the table to keep it running — that is the job Affectus does, in order to optimise the output.

The work began with collecting data to establish the load profile and peak demand of a village before installing solar PV, while at the same time evaluating communication under genuinely difficult conditions. The generators feeding the village only run at night, meaning equipment is shut off during the day; there is no 3G available and 2G/GPRS barely works, if at all. Still, the team is able to retrieve data from the ABB meter, with the load profile updated for online access from anywhere.

event

Participation in India Smart Grid Week

Affectus AB participated in India Smart Grid Week, held in New Delhi at the prestigious Maneckshaw Centre — one of the most prestigious events in the renewable energy space. Dignitaries from different countries were present: Mr. Reji Pillai, president of the ISGF, opened the occasion, and Mr. Harald Sandberg, Ambassador of Sweden to India, inaugurated the Swedish pavilion.

Affectus AB, determined to play an active part in building a greener world, was represented at the pavilion by Anandam Sanyal, in charge of the emerging markets of India and South East Asia — alongside renowned companies such as ABB, Ericsson, Metrum and Teroc.

Discussions centred on renewable energy and its applications across sectors where power is a determining factor, such as e-mobility, solar power and smart metering. Affectus discussed its systems for data, measurement and smart-metering integration with all exhibitors, and was delighted to find the concept well received by everyone present.
